For more than 30 years I’ve had the honor of meeting the dental needs of children in our community. I still love what I do and look forward to coming to “work” every day: My time is spent in the company of energetic, fun children who fill our office with laughter and smiles. I can’t imagine anything more rewarding!
I was drawn to dentistry when I was young — fascinated by my first dental visits as a child. I knew I wanted to work with my hands, help people, and have time to build lasting relationships. Pediatric dentistry was the logical choice, and I have no doubt it was the right one.
Each child is unique and I appreciate the differences. Not only does a child have his or her own clinical issues, but also their own personality, thoughts, desires, and fears. I and my team are attentive to what each child really needs, beyond the clinical issues. We care for the whole person, striving to connect with everyone on their terms and always respecting them as individuals.
I know the importance of establishing healthy habits early in life. A lot of my time with a patient and the parents is spent talking about oral health. We review proper home dental hygiene processes and routines. We also talk about nutrition and making good eating decisions. Dental health is a team effort: the child, the parent, and our practice!
I’m proud of our dental team; we’ve worked together for many years and are a family. Our support of each other extends to our patients and their families. My team loves caring for children and our office is filled with laughter.
I am passionate about continually learning, expanding, and strengthening my skills and what I am able to offer patients. I’ve completed courses in orthodontics through the US Dental Institute and studied at the Institute for Growth and Development in Pediatric Dentistry. In addition, I’m certified in the use of nitrous oxide (laughing gas), as well as conscious sedation, CPR, and PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support).
I grew up and live in Lowell with my wife of more than 30 years, Jan, and our English bulldog, Gracie. Jan and I have three adult children: Samantha, Gregory, and Timothy. When I’m not working, I can be found doing yard work and enjoying the great outdoors. I like water skiing and boating with friends and family, watching sports, and losing myself in a good book.
I’m a strong believer in supporting our community. I’m an active member of the Merrimack Valley Chamber of Commerce and the Tufts University School of Dental Medicine Dean’s Inner Circle.
Our practice supports many schools and athletic teams in Tewksbury and surrounding communities. We also contribute to:
