Our regular office hours (during the school year) are Monday-Thursday,
8:50 a.m.-6:00 p.m. and Saturday 8:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. We usually
do not have office hours on Friday. Our summer hours vary;
please inquire for appointments during the months of July and
August. Upon entering the office, please be sure to inform
us of your child’s arrival. This allows us to timely identify your
child’s presence to the clinical staff. The children are
seen according to the appointment time they reserved. It is our
sincere desire to keep our schedule running as smoothly as possible.
We realize that your time is important, and it is our plan to
provide your child’s dental care promptly. Please see our Appointment Policies page for complete details.
Our practice operates on children’s time. We use the time
needed at each visit to make your child comfortable—sometimes
that takes extra minutes. Also, we see a number of emergencies
daily. Children fall or get hit, and we work those patients
into our schedule immediately. All this means we may run a
bit late occasionally. Please forgive us ahead of time, and
know that when your child needs extra time or has an emergency,
we will do the same for him/her. Back to the Top
FEES, PAYMENTS AND INSURANCE
We will by happy to file insurance claims for patients and accept assignment of benefits assuming we have all the necessary information needed to file the claim. Such information includes a copy of your insurance card and/or a copy of a completed and
signed insurance form. If we are unable to verify active coverage,
please be prepared to pay for the visit in full. Should a credit
occur on your account, we will reimburse you you. We make every
effort to keep down the cost of dental care. If your child's treatment program requires several visits, you will be given an estimate and asked to discuss definite financial arrangements with our office business staff. Our office accepts all major credit cards, debit, cash and checks. Please see that our office business staff is made aware of any insurance change. The accuracy of all information on these forms helps prompt processing by insurance companies.
For separated or divorced parents, the parent who brings the child to the office is responsible for payment of fees charged for that child's care. If another agrees to payment responsibility, that person must provide an acknowledgment in writing of their desire to pay for care. It is the responsibility of the person bringing the child to the office to obtain a written agreement and to inform the other person of care being provided.

DOCTOR AVAILABILITY
We have a great deal of confidence in our staff and their ability to provide a service for you and your child. When you visit or call the office, please use our staff to make known information, which will help us provide a better service for your child.
If you have a question regarding your child or wish to speak with the doctor, make your wishes known at the beginning of your child's visit. We often rely on our staff to represent us for routine care, but if you need to speak to Dr. Demetriou, don't hesitate to ask.
We realize that questions sometimes arise after you have left the office or are discussing dental care with your spouse. Please call the office if answers are needed. Occasionally, the office schedule doesn't permit Dr. Demetriou to get to the phone except in emergencies. When this is the situation, please allow us to return the call as soon as possible.

RECARE VISIT
The purpose of recare visits is to periodically evaluate your child's dental health, growth, and development. The length of time between these visits is planned according to decay activity and anticipated changes with the permanent teeth. We will visually examine the teeth and surrounding tissue. We may take X-rays when indicated to check for decay between the teeth, infection of the gums and bone, and to evaluate position and location of unerupted teeth. The bite is evaluated for change. If any appliances are worn, they are checked for effectiveness and fit. The teeth are cleaned and fluoride is topically applied. Back to the Top
EMERGENCY CARE
If an accident occurs to your child's
mouth it is our hope to make ourselves available to care for
that emergency. Please call our office to schedule an appointment
as soon as possible. When the office is closed call the office
and follow the instructions provided on our phone answering machine.
After office hours or on the weekends we will do our best to
respond as quickly as possible. There may be times when Dr. Demetriou
will find it necessary to attend continuing education programs.
When this occurs, the phone answering machine will have information
about whom to contact.
An injury to the mouth which results
in any of the following should be seen as soon as possible:
There is difficulty and/or pain when opening and closing the jaw or you suspect a fractured jaw.
Primary or permanent teeth are displaced from their original position.
You have reason to believe that all or part of a primary or permanent tooth did not come out or you can not find the tooth.
A permanent tooth has been knocked out. Best to rinse (DON'T SCRUB) and push back into the gum from where the tooth came; hold in place until you see the dentist. If you can't put the tooth in place, then keep it wet and see the dentist.
More than 1 1/2mm is broken off primary or permanent tooth. For permanent teeth, place the broken piece in water and bring to the office with you.
Cuts are found in the lips, gums, roof of the mouth and/or tongue.
