It is very important that you fully understand the importance of each and every appointment. Each appointment made is reserved exclusively for your child. We ask that you not change an appointment once it is made since it might interfere in the over-all treatment plan that Dr. Demetriou has prepared for your child.
Every effort is made to keep on schedule so we respectfully ask patients to be on time for all appointments. If you arrive late, Dr. Demetriou may not be able to complete all the treatment he had planned for your child at that visit; therefore, that might result in more appointments than you had originally been expecting. Your cooperation in this matter is greatly appreciated.

CANCELLATION NOTIFICATION
We understand that sickness and emergencies arise that may prevent you from keeping your appointment; however, we do request you call to let us know if you are unable to keep your appointment with as much advance notice as possible. For non-emergency situations we would appreciate no less than 72-hour notification of cancellations. We have many children who are in need of dental care whose parents are eager to take advantage of this opportunity. When an appointment is missed you are not only affecting the dental care of your own child, you are also compromising the needs of another child. Please be courteous regarding appointments!

PRIME TIME APPOINTMENTS
Appointments missed without proper notification are recorded in your child’s dental record. After school appointments, Saturday appointments, and school vacation appointments are considered to be “prime time appointments” and are in very high demand. If a prime time appointment is missed we will no longer be able to schedule your child during that time.

FAMILY APPOINTMENTS
Depending on the amount of time needed for continuing treatment, and in spite of our best efforts, we may not be able to accommodate two or more children in the same family together on the same day for an after school appointment.

MISSED APPOINTMENT FEE
A fee of $25 is assessed to accounts for the first missed appointment; if a subsequent appointment is missed there will be a fee of $100 assessed to the account. A missed appointment is defined as an appointment that was scheduled, but the patient(s) did not show up for the appointment. In addition, there was no phone call informing us that the patient would not be attending the appointment. We reserve the right to cancel appointments for family members who have upcoming appointments, once a fee of $100 has been charged to another family member.

SATURDAY APPOINTMENTS
Our office is open Saturdays between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. during the school year. We do not offer Saturdays for the months of July and August.
Saturday appointments are in very high demand and depending on the procedure generally run 4-8 weeks in advance. Therefore, we have been forced to address the following issues:
- If an appointment is missed on a Saturday without proper notification effective immediately we will no longer be able to schedule your child(ren) for Saturday appointments .
- We try to accommodate families with two or more children on Saturdays; however, depending on the procedure being done and the amount of time needed for each appointment this may not always be possible due to time restraints. We apologize in advance for any inconvenience this may cause.
- Not all procedures can be done on a Saturday including: Diagnostic Records, initial placement of orthodontic appliances, and Pre-med appointments.
